Bunky, modular bunk beds

Bunky is a modular bunk bed system for kids, which can also be used as a single bed. Designed by Marc Newson for Magis, the Italian home furnishing company, it is assembled from four pieces: two beds, an intermediate stacking module and a ladder. It is made completely in moulded polyethylene to form an unparalleled lightweight, yet robust, and safe unit. Its bright colourways and smooth, rounded edges are perfect for a child's room. As the Australian designer puts it, "Kids like to have fun, and they like to feel safe. Bunky provides this environment for them. It is cosy and exciting – it is their very own space in which they can climb, hide and sleep.”
