Gothic and contemporary

Created by Nynke Tynagel and Job Smeets of Studio Job, these gothic chairs were specially designed for Dutch company Moooi. Inspired by a neo-gothic 16th-century style chair revisited from a playful angle, the Gothic Chair offers a striking contrast between strength and lightness, both at home and the outdoors, since the heavy wood, thick and dark, is replaced by lightweight coloured plastic, in a range of ten bright colours: orange, green, yellow, blue, red, pink, white, brown and light and dark grey. They are decorated with large buttons, in contrasting colours, fitted to the structure of the chair, like brass nails used to be.
