Pop and timeless: the Nesso lamp
Pop and timeless: the Nesso lamp
In 1965, Italian designer Giancarlo Mattioli designed the Nesso, a large white or orange mushroom made from ABS. First released by Artemide in 1967, it is today an undisputed icon of 1960s/70s design. This pop and timeless lamp has been exhibited in museums across the globe, including the MOMA, and has become the symbol of a whole generation. Artemide has marketed two new versions of the lamp, one which is similar to the original, and a miniaturized and translucent version.
