Recycled travel kits
Air France has teamed up with Bilum to launch a collection of travel kits made from re-purposed life jackets.
The life jackets placed under the seats of commercial airliners are regularly checked and maintained. The gas canisters which serve to inflate them are replaced, but they expire after ten years, at which point the life jackets also have to be replaced. Up until recently, they would be thrown away and destroyed.
Now, they are intelligently transformed and recycled into toiletry kits by Bilum, a company specializing in upcycling.
Air France aims to reduce its environmental impact and to ensure that every action, as small as it may be, works towards that objective.
