The fascinating Melt suspension lamp

The result of a collaboration between famous British designer Tom Dixon and Swedish studio Front, Melt is a miniature suspension lamp made of polycarbonate that is as surprising as it is mysterious. With its irregular contours and blown glass look, it has two faces: when switched off, its metallic shade is opaque and reflective. When the light is switched on, the shade becomes translucent like glass. The material then takes on superb deep reflections, playing with light, colour, transparency and depth.
