The mythical roundness of the Cobra lamp

In 1968, Italian designer Elio Martinelli, working for Italian brand Martinelli Luce, designed the Cobra lamp, one of the first lamps to be made from molded thermoplastic resin. Its spherical shape and its simple, geometric lines quickly made it an icon of 1970s design, and it would soon be displayed in museums around the world. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Italian brand re-issued its mythical lamp in an exclusive shade of red. This model will undoubtedly become just as timeless and sought-after as its forbears!
