IN-EI, sculptures of shadow and light

IN-EI is a lighting collection developed by Issey Miyake for Artemide. Japanese for "shadow, shadiness, nuance," the "IN-EI" range includes table -, hanging- and free-standing lights. The idea, born of a marriage of creativity and mathematics, has resulted in lighting products that can be folded flat and re-shaped as striking 3-dimensional shapes, starting from a single piece of cloth, diffusing a delicate and subtle light. With this, Issey Miyake is channelling a concept devised by his Reality Lab R&D team and applied to a line of innovative clothing made from recycled PET.
